Loss and Grief
On a daily basis and in varying degrees we all experience loss in our lives.
It comes in many forms - from the death of family members, friends, pets or loss of tangible things such as personal belongings, employment, health or relationships.
Grief is a normal reaction to any loss and grieving a loss is a normal process.
The nature of grief can be a chaotic and overwhelming experience.
It is important to be aware that we all grieve differently so the experience will be unique to each one of us.
What is Happening Within?
The grief you experience can be defined as a mental, emotional, physical and spiritual reaction affecting us on all or some of these levels at any given time.
It is the vocabulary of the body that best communicates our grief therefore it is of great value to become aware of what your body is physically telling you as well as your emotions.
Grief takes time to heal and as much time as needed according to each one of us.
If grieving is excessively prolonged seeking professional support would be beneficial.
